January 3, 2014: Tricks of the Trade

There's a trick to stacking feed sacks, be it in a warehouse or on a hand truck. It's illustrated here. Can you spot it?

Looks like you have to alternate the stitched ends.

It looks like you lean them against the wall so they don't fall forward and break open (or hurt someone depending on how high you're stacking them). Of course, what are you still doing with sacks of seeds? Don't they come in fancy seed boxes now?

Bottom sack on edge so you don't rip it when slipping under the pile with a hand truck.....also helps when stacking with a hand truck to have the bottom sack on edge.
